Black Curtain Rods

There’s just something about black curtain rods that sets them apart from other kinds of curtain rods. I’m not sure exactly what it is… a sense of elegance maybe, a sense of something out of the ordinary and beautiful. Whatever it is, black curtain rods really add something special to almost any room in your house.

On this page I’m going to talk about the different kinds of black curtain rods that you can expect to find, and I’m also going to spend a decent amount of time talking about prices so you know exactly what you should expect to pay, and also what you shouldn’t pay!

What are they made out of? black curtain rods can be made up of all kinds of different materials. In fact, just because they’re black doesn’t necessarily mean that they’re made out of something in particular. Many people think that black curtain rods are only wrought-iron, but this isn’t really the case these days as we can make just about any kind material look like wrought-iron… you know, give that same sort of look and feel that you’d expect from wrought-iron.

Room Essentials Ball Cafe Drapery Rod: this is a sort of common black curtain rod that you can expect to find just about anywhere. It generally comes in 84 inches to 120 inches in length and consists mainly of a straight black rod with a simple oval bulb on each end. I suppose you’d call the bulb bell-shaped, but only barely. The telescoping rod comes with mounting hardware which is everything you need to get it up and running. It’s not a super strong rod, but this particular size can sometimes be difficult to find and as such it’s an incredibly good deal at only $20.

General Prices as far as prices go it’s really sort of difficult to pin down exact prices for such a broad range of products… but for the most part a normal distribution curve would place the higher-end models at around $20 or more, and the lower end models at generally around $9-$15. If you’re looking for black curtain hooks, you can expect to pay much less sometimes even $3 or $4 dollars whereas full rod systems will cost more mainly because of the material involved being greater.

Twin Curtain Rod – Antique Brass at slightly lower end of the pay scale is this curtain rod. It consists of mainly a simplistic black pole with twist finials on the ends. These are wrought iron curtain rods so you may be surprised at the price that you can generally pick these up for; which is less than eight dollars! They measure 48 to 84 inches in length which may be a little shorter than you might expect but are still quite adequate for most windows. Generally you’ll have to buy two of these per order to get the deal, but even then it’s only $14 and change for the both of them. You really just can’t beat that. I specially liked the twist finial motif on the end of the rod which is simple yet elegant and interesting to look at.
